"Baby" Bearded Irises are a picture at the front of a border, in that special place or in a rockery.
SDB are the first of the Bearded Iris to flower, a wonderful welcome to the end of winter.
As they are so tiny when planting, especially minature dwarf rhizomes, it can pay to anchor them into the ground with a wire hoop (I use a piece of No 8 wire in a n shape, or put chicken wire on top until they have their new roots strongly in the ground. They will quickly form a clump. They will need dividing every 3 years or so, and make sure they have access to soil. | |
